Why I Started A Blog

Hello beautiful people of the internet,

Since this is my first ever blog post, I figured I would start by letting you know why I chose to start a blog & where the inspiration of my blog name came from, assuming you've already read my About Me. I had contemplated for a loooong time whether or not I should make a blog. I was worried if people would truly be interested in what I had to say or whether I even had anything worth saying. For almost 2 years, the thought of creating my own blog was put in the back of my mind, hidden behind all the other things I was scared to do.

3 months ago when I went to a doctor's appointment, the idea started to creep up again. There I was sitting on the exam table in Mt. Sinai, speaking with my nurse, Amy, when she mentioned how people create a blog to document their weight loss journey. The thought of exposing myself that way online terrified me (you'll learn I'm scared of EVERYTHING). I brushed off the suggestion & kept it moving. It wasn't until a week ago that I decided to just say "fuck it, what's the worst that can happen?" If no one reads this blog, at least I can always look back on what I was doing at a certain period of time. It's about looking at the bright side!

The reason I really wanted to start blogging was so I would have a place to document my life: the good, the bad & the ugly. I wanted to create a place where I could talk about my weight loss journey (although it's more of a lifestyle change), what I'm really loving at the moment, how I'm dealing with my anxiety & depression & trying to overcome the fear of giving a fucking what people actually think of me. I say starting this was step 1 in not caring what people say about me because, as a wise person once said to me: "people will talk about you either way, you need to learn how to say 'fuck you' & move on." (Thanks Sabrina.)

The posts on my blog will range from updates on my weight loss journey, sharing my favorite music (I am a big music lover), dealing with my anxiety, planning posts & everything else under the sun! I like to dabble in anything & everything. I hope whoever reading my posts enjoys them & my love of oversharing.
